Timeleyin Olorunyomi, better known as BadBoyTimz, a fast-rising Nigerian singer, has filed a N200 million defamation of character case against his former label.
Last week, a viral video showed BadBoyTimz in handcuffs.
The artist was accused of “defrauding his label and show promoters,” according to reports.
However, in a recent Instagram article, the singer said that his detention was unjustified and that it was the result of Mr. Temple and Precious Egamasi’s efforts to defame his character and mislead the public about his (Timz )relationship with his former label.

Although the label has apologized for sharing a video of him in handcuffs online, BadboyTimz claims that this does not constitute defamation of character.
Part of the letter read: “We, therefore, write to demand that you take following steps within 7 days;”
“A letter from the company jointly signed by Messers, Temple Egemasi, and Precious Egemasi to our client containing a suitable apology for the publication of the offensive video.”
“The said letter to be published in three different national newspapers.”
“Payment of N200,000,000 as damages for the publication of the offensive video.”
