Suspected Herdsmen Kidnap Three In Edo Community

Must Read

Suspected herdsmen abducted three people (two women and a truck driver) on their way to Utesi in Edo State’s Ovia North-East Local Government Area on Monday.

According to a colleague of the kidnapped driver, he was on his way to a sawmill in the village when he was stopped by the herdsmen, who opened fire on the oncoming truck and abducted him and the two women.

“The driver was going to the sawmill in Utesi with two women, where he went to carry woods, but on their way, three herdsmen came out and opened fire on them, three of them were kidnapped and we have not heard anything from them till now.

Recall that the Benin-Lagos Road has been under attack by herdsmen who have kidnapped and maimed a number of travelers on the always-bustling Lagos-Benin Road.

Prince Dennis Abuda, a Nigerian living in the United States, was abducted and killed by alleged Fulani herdsmen.

When our reporter called the Edo State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Kontongs Bello, his call was answered by someone who told our reporter that the SP was not available to take his call but promised to contact the DPO and get back to him.
