Burna Boy’s manager and mother have revealed that the Grammy winner did not receive N10 million from Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State vowed to gift Burna Boy land and money as a thank you for winning the Grammy Awards at a homecoming ceremony for him after his Grammy win.
He also vowed to give N10 million to each of the other singers who performed that night.
Bose Ogulu, however, told Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Rubbing Minds that being hosted by the Rivers government was an honor for Burna boy, but that he was not paid to perform.
Any other state hosting the singer before Rivers would have been a travesty, she added.
“The first thing about that event was that money was not paid. It was paid to everyone else but Burna. Everyone else who came to perform was paid, but him, because they were honouring him. He was not being paid to be there.”
”It is only a bastard, my people say, that refuses honour in his father’s house.”
